Club Membership

BCYC caters for both mono hull dinghy sailors and windsurfers, sailing on Cheddar Reservoir.

BCYC always welcomes new members, from complete beginners to experienced sailors and top class racers.  Please feel free to visit the club and see for yourself.  Sundays are probably best as this is when we are busiest.  If you introduce yourself to the duty crew in the galley or race box, they will be happy to find a committee member or experienced sailor to talk to you about your particular areas of interest.

Please click on the links below for membership packs, or call/email the membership secretary.

(Please Note that to apply for Winter Membership you  should be an exisitng member of an RYA registered club)

Boat Storage

The club currently has outside boat storage and a short waiting list for indoor storage.  The costs for both indoor and outdoor storage and the Bristol Water Registration fee are included in the membership pack.

Club Rules

The club is run by members for members

As a club, we aim to be fully inclusive and do our utmost to provide a safe environment to enjoy water based activities. Our rules are designed to encourage not prevent members activities.

To keep fees down by not having to employ staff, all BCYC adult members help to keep the club running safely and effectively by carrying out several duties per year.  New members who have undertaken the free club safety boat training will usually assist the Officer of the Day.  Those who have not done this carry out galley duties such as preparing and serving simple meals and drinks.  Please don't be put off by this, all tasks are clearly explained in manuals provided and new members are teamed with experienced sailors.  Members preferences as to type and time of duty, and who with, are met as far as practical.
